Laying the ESG Foundation – The Hoyo Tech Approach to Responsible Innovation

At Hoyo Tech, we’re not just building smart environments — we’re shaping responsible, sustainable, and human-centric spaces through technology. Our journey toward ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance began with a clear vision: to embed ESG principles directly into the DNA of our Hoyo Smart platforms.

Why ESG Matters in IoT

Smart technology gives us the unique opportunity to observe, optimize, and automate every facet of our built environment. But to truly create value for people and the planet, it has to go beyond comfort and convenience - it must be ethical, sustainable, and transparent. That’s where ESG comes in.

We’ve committed to building smart ecosystems that prioritize energy efficiency, wellbeing, and digital responsibility, not just for our customers, but internally, starting with our own offices in Skopje and Struga.

The Starting Point: Embedding ESG into the Skopje Smart Office

In early 2024, we began retrofitting our Skopje headquarters to align with ESG standards. With over 120 IoT devices and 1000+ data points managed by our AI controller, Genera, this office became our ESG testbed. Here’s how we began translating ESG principles into concrete actions:

🔋 Environmental Focus

• Energy Optimization
  ➡️ Every light, roller blind, HVAC unit, and appliance is monitored and optimized for usage.
  ➡️ Consumption is tracked in real-time using Prometheus + InfluxDB, visualized with Grafana dashboards.
  ➡️ Smart rules dynamically reduce peak-time loads and unnecessary standby power usage.
   
• Smart Climate Management
  ➡️ CO₂ sensors, temperature probes, and humidity trackers automate ventilation and heating.
  ➡️ Zones are controlled individually, improving comfort while cutting energy waste.
   
• Device-Level Granularity
  ➡️ Device Naming Scheme structure allows per-device insights (e.g., shellyplus1__10100502_Light, aqara__10200101_Humidity).
  ➡️ This gives Genera context-aware decision-making — it doesn’t just know what’s on, but why and where.

Scaling ESG from Office to Infrastructure: Struga Office Vision

With the Skopje model in place, we’ve taken a more ambitious leap with our upcoming Struga office, opening in Summer 2025. This new space is ESG by design, featuring:

• 25kW of solar power integrated via Enphase IQ8+ microinverters
• 10kW battery storage for intelligent load balancing and backup
• Heat pump system for efficient heating, reducing fossil fuel dependency
• Full IoT integration from day one: lighting, motion, air quality, energy metering, access control, and more — all controlled via Genera and Hoyo Smart Apps.

We’re treating Struga as a live lab — an opportunity to measure ESG impacts from construction to operation.
