How VR and AR can enhance the smart home experience

At this year's WWDC, Apple unveiled their latest product, Vision Pro—a groundbreaking AR/VR device designed for the general public. While some perceive it as another expensive gadget with limited practical use, others recognize its revolutionary potential to transform how we perceive and interact with our environment.

So, which is it?

For us, this presents a remarkable opportunity to reimagine the way users interact with their homes in the future. Currently, touch gestures and voice commands are the most prevalent methods for interacting with our devices, including smart homes. The convenience of controlling lights or using voice commands to operate devices from the comfort of our couches is a feature our parents could never have imagined. However, for our children, it may become a thing of the past. We are currently in a transitional period, where concerns about heating/cooling, lighting, security, and other tasks still exist. But in my opinion, this will soon change.

We have already introduced full home automation, providing users with complete control over their homes in the palm of their hand. With a few taps, clicks, and voice commands, users can now manage every aspect of their home. Furthermore, we are actively developing an on-device AI module that analyzes user actions and makes predictions based on that data. By incorporating weather predictions, Hoyo Home will automatically optimize climate control to align with user preferences and reduce energy consumption by more than 30%.
But is this enough?

It seems not!

In the past few months, the tech world has witnessed significant advancements in key innovations. OpenAI astounded everyone with their AI model, a chat application so realistic that, for a moment, we forgot we were conversing with a computer and not a real person. With the right questions and instructions, it could become an invaluable tool across various industries. Many people expressed concerns about potential job replacement. In my opinion, these concerns are valid. However, it is crucial to view this as an opportunity to enhance our capabilities rather than as a threat.

The second remarkable innovation came from Apple. They introduced an even more advanced way of interacting with our surroundings—an AR/VR set that extends our reality into the digital world we already inhabit. This is the future we aspire to live in, and we are eager to be part of the innovation process.

Imagine sitting in your living room and effortlessly interacting with the lights with just a glance. When the doorbell rings, you can instantly see who is on the other side and communicate with them without leaving your comfortable couch. You can even unlock the door with a simple hand gesture. This is the future we envision, and it appears to be arriving sooner than expected.

At Hoyo Tech, we wholeheartedly embrace these new technologies and actively incorporate the latest advancements into our product portfolio. We eagerly anticipate the availability of Apple Vision so that we can further enhance Hoyo Home's user-friendliness and future-proof it for the years to come.
